WHAT WE THINK
We’re only human, we all make mistakes. So goes the saying. But as this article rightly points out, there is more than one type of mistake and we would do well to spend a little time considering how the mistake came to be in order to learn from it.
For example, there is a huge difference between making a mistake because you are pushing yourself beyond your current ability and making a mistake because you know the task well and were just being lazy or trying to find a shortcut.
Although aimed at an education market, this article has some great insight for the health and care sector, particularly around the issue of differentiating between “learning situations” and “performance situations” and understanding how to handle mistakes appropriately.
