Hear how a public health service changed its approach to improving the mental health and wellbeing of Polynesian (Maori and Pacific Island) youth in South Auckland and what it takes to partner with constituencies in ways that build their capacity and power to take action on their own health.
This session will demonstrate the energy for change contained in the switch from doing things to or for others to doing things with others. It will benefit those working in health and care to see the potential of making similar shifts in power from health and care professional to patient, carer and community.
