Steve, until very recently, was Managing Director of NHS Improving Quality in England. He is now working with others on a social enterprise opportunity. Previously he was Director of Business, Improvement & Research, for NHS England where he led nationally on the establishment of Academic Health Science Networks. He worked in both Local Authorities and a University social research unit prior to joining the NHS where he has held a number of senior roles, to Board level, including Regional leadership of improvement and efficiency programmes. Trained as a demographer, and more recently a health economist, he has led a number of complex multi-organisational improvement programmes to successful conclusion and is particularly interested in the leadership and promotion of positive change both within organisations and across whole systems.
